Perspective
One of the things that has had a major shift for me once I became a business owner is perspective. I have not only had to shift my own thinking and find the proper way to focus on my business, but I have also gained a new perspective on so many things.
I feel like COVID has made everyone stop and pause and rethink A LOT of things. My pivot started 4 years ago. I felt like I was starting over, again, at 39.
A lot of things had to happen to put me here. Mindset is HUGE! I have gained so much insight as to what it is that I love to do, what I love about it and what separates me from every other person.
It is a strange thing to think about. One of the first things I was asked when I talked about becoming a business owner, is “What makes you different or unique or better than anyone else"?. As a single female who pretty much was a social introvert. I prefer small groups to big groups and have always had a difficult time being the conversation starter and constantly fumble over what to say.
Being a business owner has opened my eyes and helped me answer so many questions, built up my confidence and honestly is the reason that I have been able to continue on this roller coaster adventure for as long as I have.
I can now confidently call myself a badass baker (fun fact, I started referring to myself as a badass baker way before I ever believed it).
I am confident that even after burning out of the business after a decade, my passion for baking and eating desserts has not been affected!! Thank goodness!!!
I have found my stride and joy in teaching and connecting with people more than I ever have in my entire 43 years.
I am feeling more confident in creating my own path and am finally starting to see results in my business growing and in myself.
I am still working on the organizing, the non-baking stuff and asking for help
I am a better teacher and Pastry chef thanks to my amazing students!
I am deserving of the successes that I have gained because I work extremely hard.
My adventure has only just begun and I have lots of exciting things happening in the near future!
I have the best fans and students ever!!
