2020 so far

Time for a brief summary of what is happening this year so far for Annie’s Signature Sweets.

  • My macarons tickets are basically selling like hotcakes. You are all LOVING the French macarons. Woo hoo! Happy to help take the fear out of these little delicate and sometimes finicky treats:)

My students still are the BEST STUDENTS EVER! I mean truly amazing. You sure know how to keep me afloat on the most tiring and exhausting days.

I had a survey that I sent out last week and you have all been so great about filling it out. I am super excited to summarize the feedback.

Based on the surveys, You are all LOVING the following:

  • Macarons, Cinnamon Rolls, Petit Fours, Swiss cake rolls, pumpkin rolls

  • being able to make your own desserts and take them home

  • laid back stress free approach

  • casual hands on fun environment

  • coming up with your own flavors

  • supportive, no pressure environment

  • strangers becoming friends in span of 2 hours, learning something new that you once thought was so hard to accomplish

  • welcoming atmosphere

  • everything is set up and ready to go

  • my enthusiasm and encouragement- thanks:)

  • ability to ask specific questions applicable to when you make the recipes at home.

YOUR SUGGESTIONS:

  • Memberships? Unfortunately, It Is not something that I am able to offer at this time. I will definitely keep it in mind as my business grows. I am not able to offer it currently.

  • Some savory types of classes- If you have a specific idea, please let me know. I don’t eat savory but am open to learning something new.

  • crepes class? Yes please, have to find some pans for this class

  • pizza class? looking for pans for this class as well

  • Having a recipe visible to see in class- I can definitely give you a recipe, what I found the first 2 years is that I would print recipes and many would be left behind. I am more than happy to have some available for you to reference in class. Thanks for the tip!

  • meals with dessert- is this for a 5 course dessert meal?? maybe. Definitely something I am thinking about. Thanks for the idea.

  • Tea time- looking to do a tea pairing with Storehouse tea. Some of my classes are geared towards tea time, but definitely will be adding some type of tea specific pairing soon. Thanks!

BEST TIME OF DAY:

Wednesday Evening

Saturday afternoon (starting between noon and 4pm)

LEAST FAVORITE DAY FOR CLASS:

Monday- I will still have an occasional class on Monday evening but these are cancelled pretty often due to lack of interest. I can also book private events on Mondays if you prefer.

You indicated Sundays and Fridays are not great, but you have been coming to these classes so I am keeping them on there for now. I am really loving the Friday night classes :)

WORKSHOPS:

  • I have a few more intimate workshops to focus on certain type of desserts that involve only 6 people and a little more time to explore our creativity and focus on a little more of the details and science of the baking. I have 3 classes posted right now and am open to ideas if you have them.

  • Kids classes- in the works- potentially a parent child class or two a month. Working on details. Hopefully get something in the works in March or April at the latest. Thanks for your patience.

You want MORE of the following classes:

  • Baklava, Swiss Cake rolls, Tiramisu, Pretzels, Bagels, Galettes, Pies, Tarte Tatin, Choux Pastry

KIND WORDS BY MY AMAZING STUDENTS:

“ANNIE IS A LOVELY HOSTESS”

“I LOVE HER TEACHING STYLE AND FUN PERSONALITY”

“NICE FLOW AND WELL ORGANIZED WITH YOUR LOVELY ASSISTANT”

“FUN AND HELPFUL TEACHER”

“ANNIE IS THERE EVERY STEP OF THE WAY”

“YOU KEEP YOUR EYE ON EVERYONE, ME INCLUDED TO MAKE SURE OUR EFFORTS ARE A SUCCESS”

“SHE IS SO SUPPORTIVE”

Thanks to each of you who have helped me keep me and this business growing and evolving every day. You make it fun, easy, rewarding and so memorable. I feel like I could do this 24 Hours a day and never get bored. But let’s be real, not going to happen. Burnout is only happening to me 1x in this lifetime. Been there, done that!

A FEW THINGS TO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE SPRING/SUMMER:

I have events coming up with YELP, Engage Cleveland YP group, Hyland Software, Magnificat High School and Rocky River Library.

Stay up to date with my classes on my website, book your private events with me or place your orders with me all year long!

Have the best week ever!!

xoxo

Annie
