DID YOU KNOW THAT FRENCH MACARONS ARE NOT THE SAME AS MACAROONS?
One of the most common things people confuse is that there is a difference between a French Macaron and a Macaroon.
I have been teaching thousands of students in Cleveland and all over the world on zoom how to make French macarons since 2018.
The truth is that a French Macaron and a Coconut macaroon are 2 totally different cookies with 2 different techniques to put together. I find them both to be VERY delicious! Some people prefer one to the other.
Coconut macaroons consist of a sweet chewy and crispy coconut cookie that is mixed in 1 bowl and scooped and baked. I actually love these cookies!
French macarons are a much more technical cookie that requires a sort of dance of skills, patience and a great recipe and Teacher to guide you through the technical side of the French Macarons. They are definitely not impossible and my students are often surprised at how quickly they can learn how to make these on their first try!
I create recipes that are easy to make and also help point out what you need to look for when making these French macarons.
I find that people mess up for the following reasons:
They have an issue with their egg whites
They only follow the directions without knowing what to look for as far as consistency which is extremely necessary when making these French Macarons.
They are impatient
They undermix or overrmix the batter
They don’t rest the cookies long enough
They overcook or undertake the cookies
They are not sure how to pie the batter
I am here to help you master the French Macaron! This class sells out frequently and is my most popular baking class that I teach. My recipe is foolproof with my skills and techniques that I share with you.
My students often remake these on their own after class and are successful and continue to make these again and again.
I am your biggest cheerleader and supporter! Let me help you! Check out my website to see when my next baking class is!
