A new way to teach....this time from home.

I have to be honest, I was not quite sure how these online classes would go and if I would enjoy them as much as I do in person. I live in a pretty small apartment with a big kitchen space, but basically zero counter space, no dishwasher or disposal and a pretty tiny sink that can barely hold more than a bowl or two.

I propped up my big folding table, set up my small kitchen table and found a great spot for lighting and to be easily seen and easily see my students.

This week I hosted my first series of classes with 2 friends from Sacramento and I have to say that things went smoothly. I am not super confident in my tech skills and I definitely needed some guidance on how to make this work, but I got it and I LOVE it! I got some lovely tips from my friends along the way of how to keep the camera, how to set up views, record, and we made it all work.

A few mishaps along the way including almost buckling my folding table In half because it wasn’t locked in tight, and a few things I hadn't thought of until I was in the moment, but honestly, these classes are working! We are still able to have fun, I still get to connect with you and you can connect with each other.

There are definitely a few challenges but overall, I am super excited to be baking with you again!!!

I know we are not sure how long this lockdown will last and as of now we have another week. I am hopeful it will be soon, but the realist in me says this will last a long time. I am grateful for your support and hope to see you online until we can connect again in real life.

Life is always about adjusting and we are ALL learning how to adjust over and over again. Keep your head up. I am definitely on the roller coaster of emotions and challenges along with you. I have good days and days that I cannot focus and get completely stir crazy or overwhelmed. We will get through this together. Baking always helps!!
