Lessons in 2020

We are all learning every day and tons of lessons have been thrown at us especially in 2020, whether we like it or not. Here are a few reminders that I have taken on and tried to make the best of in 2020.

  1. Slow down- I am always working on 100 things, my mind is constantly racing and sleeping is hard to do most times. I can blame it on being a business owner, but this is truly how I have been my whole life. Being a business owner has its own challenges and lessons, but I do have to work on what to focus on in life and my business.

  2. Adjusting is part of the process of life and business. I had to pivot my business to keep it going. I also had to rethink how I was running my business as I had to implement new methods of arranging my schedule, choosing classes and how I have have to anticipate what my students/clients would need for classes.

  3. Classes can be just as fun on Zoom as they are in person. I have the BEST STUDENTS EVER! Even though technology and I have not been the best of friends, I can always count on my students to embrace whatever challenges happen with technology, weather, or my own personal mishaps or missteps in class. I have had students bring the fun with outfits, themes, sending packages to friends and families to help unite them even though they are meeting on a computer and not in person, games, trivia, contests, birthdays, anniversaries, bonding from afar. The list goes on an on. THANK YOU for being ALL IN all the time.

  4. Patience and practice not only applies to learning baking, but it is also something I often have to remind myself when I get frustrated or anxious. I am as always a work in progress and am always as present as possible in my classes and am working on being patient as a business owner.

  5. Good things will outweigh the bad things ALWAYS even though the stressful things seem to linger more often. Have I had bad days, difficult clients, stressful times behind the scenes???? YEP, YEP and YEP! Although the negativity can be draining, I am always working on trying to keep focus on the positive. There are days it is easier to move on and other days that it seems like it will never end and that I am stuck.

  6. I am unstoppable. I still have a business and although it seems to be overwhelming a lot of the time, I am not stopping any time soon.

  7. My passion and love of baking and teaching keeps on growing every single day.

THANK YOU for being my biggest cheerleaders, supporters and for keeping this business alive and allowing me to continue sharing this dream and passion with you. I am beyond grateful that you are here for me in so many ways.

I hope you embrace the last couple of weeks of the year and try to find fun, joy and peace and stay as healthy as possible. I hope to see you in a virtual class soon on Zoom! Make sure to keep up with me on my website and sign up for my newsletter for all the latest updates.

xoxo
