Three things I have learned in the last 2 1/2 years

Three important things I have learned over the last 2 1/2 years:

  1. Always take time for yourself

Why is it so hard to take time for ourselves? Doesn’t matter if you are single, married, have kids, have a business, we all have lives and we all want to be everywhere and support everyone else but it is usually ourselves that gets the leftovers. I can relate it to FOMO (fear of missing out), that good old catholic guilt (help everyone all the time) or the need to constantly satisfy the need to find something new because I am ADD and cannot sit still, I am curious about so many things going on around me, craving new activities, people or experiences. It was a long time before I truly started to accept that I deserve to be placed first more often. Now that I am running my own business I have the flexibility to schedule a massage on a Monday afternoon, go to a fitness or yoga class, go for a walk and the truth is I still don’t include as much of that “me time” that I need to but I am always a work in progress.

2. I am responsible for my own happiness. Yes, Me, Not you. Me. It is a hard pill to swallow but the more I consciously do for myself, the more positivity I see in my own life. What you feel is felt by so many other people instantly. I have been in the darkest times, the Debbie downer of the group and as I create more joy and add it into my life, I am reveling in the joy that I am feeling and seeing in return in my life.

3. Celebrate your wins and don’t every feel guilty about it!- I work extremely hard in life, I love hard, now I am enjoying more, celebrating my accomplishments because I am exactly where I am because of passion, hustle, heart, and of course all of your support. It is NOT easy and most of the time extremely exhausting physically and mentally. After 2 1/2 years of laying the groundwork for my business, I finally feel like a business owner. Yes, A legit business owner.. The business stuff will always linger in the background because I honestly hate it but nothing in life is perfect. I am proud, passionate and unstoppable. Not sorry.

I hope that no matter what you have going on in your life you can apply these 3 tools because they have literally been a game changer for me.

Stay badass and sweet.

xoxo
